Cults, Captives, and Creepy Creatures: Inside the Monster Park Tycoon Demo

The playable demo for Monster Park Tycoon has been out for a while, and it gives us a taste of what happens when theme park management is combined with running a secret cult devoted to the Dark Lord. If you decide to give it a chance, you can design and build a functioning park with exhibits for ghoulish creatures such as zombies, vampires, and werewolves, all while keeping your rather questionable occult enterprise hidden beneath the surface (feel free to insert a muahahaha here).

Park guests can be intercepted using traps disguised as harmless park props. Once captured, we can choose one of three fates for each unfortunate visitor: feed them to the monsters (a no-brainer for us), brainwash them into new cultists to expand our workforce, or, even better, sacrifice them to generate Faith. We know, we should probably see someone about these thoughts. Brainwashing is the main way to recruit new cultists, although unexpected events, such as monster breakouts, can affect the park’s population.

There’s plenty of fun to be had juggling park layouts, looking after the creatures, and keeping an eye on media relations. Oh, and we mustn’t forget the mandatory blood rituals to appease the Creator of Eternal Obscurity. Each monster has its own requirements, including a diet of brains, blood, meat, or souls and suitable exhibit conditions. Neglect them, and they’re likely to cause trouble. Daily operations can be disrupted by escaping creatures, nosy reporters, PR disasters, panicked parkgoers, and saboteurs. To make progress, we need to generate Faith to unlock the Dark Lord’s Favors and send cultists on expeditions to acquire new creatures.

So, yeah, get your Auuuuu on and sacrifice them lovelies.
