During the Summer Game Fest 2026, Capcom turned a lot of heads, promising a very bright future. The publisher hit the stage in Hamburg and dropped three massive announcements that pretty much took over my timeline: the long-rumored Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake, a huge expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, and a wild crossover for Street Fighter 6.
If you missed the live show, you really need to find the time to watch it. It was a doozy!
Meanwhile, here’s the breakdown of everything you need to know.
The Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake is Finally Real
After years of fans—us included—practically begging for it, a Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake is officially happening. It’s a full remake of the beloved classic, and it’s set to launch in 2027.
We’re heading back to the zombie-infested Rockfort Island with the one and only Claire Redfield. The game is running on Capcom’s in-house RE Engine. In other words: expect it to look incredible and play a lot like the recent RE4 remake. The remake is hitting PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam). It is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Takes Us to the Clouds
If you’ve gone through the base game (which, if you haven’t, is currently on sale), get ready to look up and spread your digital wings. Capcom announced Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, a massive expansion coming in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Instead of staying grounded, Ascendance is taking the Expedition Team into the sky. Brace yourselves for floating islands, a completely new high-altitude map, and some explosive new abilities for aerial hunting. Oh, and Elder Dragons are officially making their return, alongside a brutal new tier of Master Rank content. There’s plenty to chew on in 2027!

But, as they say, wait, there’s more!
Tifa Joins the Street Fighter 6 Roster for Year 4
Capcom also laid out the roadmap for Street Fighter 6 Year 4. Four new fighters are joining the roster under the theme of “Unbridled Strength.” Get your war gloves ready, because these are the warriors you’ll be breaking bones with.

- Yasmine (August 3, 2026): Dropping very soon, Yasmine is a high schooler from the Philippines who uses a fast-paced fighting style and a karambit knife.
- Arjun (Autumn 2026): An ex-cop from India who is currently on the run. He fights using some wild, bare-knuckle yoga techniques.
- Tifa (Early 2027): Yes, that Tifa. The iconic brawler from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series is crossing over into Metro City. We can’t wait to see her square up against Chun-Li!
- Bosch (Spring 2027): The rival character from World Tour mode is fully playable, bringing a mix of ancient styles and moves.
The Year 4 passes are out now across all current platforms, and yep, they are even up for pre-order on the Switch 2.
