Vintage Glamour Stuff is a DLC that comes with a collection of nice-looking furniture and clothes that are all about old-fashioned luxury, with formal clothing, glamorous furniture, a vanity table, a globe bar and other items that belong to a very specific theme. But it shouldn’t be dismissed easily as it also comes with something that can change how a household works – a very helpful live-in butler.
What is a Sunday Sims Spotlight?

The main attraction
We didn’t want to waste time, so the first thing we did was hire a butler and live like privileged royalty. Butlers can live with your household and take care of all sorts of jobs. We can assign responsibilities such as cleaning, gardening, repairs, and childcare, as well as ask the butler to cook meals, deal with visitors, and handle other tasks around the house. It makes things a lot easier, especially when you want to focus on fulfilling a specific goal without sweating the same old dull chores.
We can, of course, also change those responsibilities if we don’t necessarily want our butler doing everything. For example, we might want them looking after the garden while our Sims handle the cooking, or we might want some extra help with the children.
The butler adjusts to our current needs, but they are also a Sim. They have their own traits and personality—which, in a nutshell, means different butlers behave differently since they are far from mindless robots. Of course, this also means things won’t always go exactly how we expect; a butler can have their own ideas about what they should be doing. That, however, has always been part of the fun of having another Sim permanently living in the house. It’s nice to have someone around who doesn’t constantly wait for us to give them every instruction.
The butler system has had bugs for years. We didn’t personally experience these issues, but we’ve read that a butler will sometimes not go to sleep on their own or will fail to complete certain tasks reliably. This doesn’t mean every household will run into these problems (we haven’t so far, knock on wood), but when the butler is the pack’s biggest gameplay feature, it’s worth knowing about.
The vanity
Our Sims don’t have to go back into Create-a-Sim to apply makeup anymore. During normal gameplay, they can apply makeup using the vanity table. The makeup is temporary, making it a great addition for all those times you want to give a Sim a fresh look for an evening without permanently changing their appearance.
A Sim can get ready before going to a party, sit at the vanity, change their makeup, and leave. When they return to their normal routine, the temporary look can be removed through standard activities like sleeping, showering, or swimming. Children can also play with the vanity—a much less glamorous activity that often leads to some rather questionable makeup choices.
The globe bar
The globe bar looks like something we’d expect to find in the home of a wealthy Sim. It’s far from a simple object meant to fill an empty corner. Our Sims can use it to make drinks, while children, again, can interact with it in their own way. There are also smaller additions, including the World Culture Network TV channel, which gives the pack a little more to offer outside of Build/Buy mode.
Building a Home and Getting Dressed for the Occasion
The Build/Buy catalogue has a clear old-Hollywood feel, featuring elegant beds, sofas, tables, lighting, mirrors, curtains, rugs, a fireplace, the globe bar, and plenty of decorative pieces. There are also vanity tables, as mentioned above, that fit naturally into bedrooms and dressing areas.
Sadly, some pieces don’t have matching counterparts, so building an entire room using only Vintage Glamour items isn’t always as easy as it should be. Then again, maybe that isn’t the point of the DLC. In fact, some of the furniture works better when combined with items from other packs rather than trying to make every room look like it came directly from Vintage Glamour.
The Create-a-Sim content features formal outfits, hairstyles, accessories, jewelry, and other pieces designed around a vintage, Hollywood-inspired look. Adult Sims get the strongest selection, while options for children are much more limited.
Is it worth adding to our collection?
If you enjoy building wealthy households, glamorous homes, or Sims who prefer having someone else take care of the boring jobs, this DLC is highly recommended. It isn’t a huge pack, and some of the Build/Buy and CAS content is quite niche, but having another Sim live in the house, manage chores, and bring their own personality to the household gives this particular Stuff Pack something many others lack.
