Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Arrives in 2026

It’s finally happening: Edward Kenway is coming back.

Ubisoft just announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. It’s a ground-up remake of the 2013 pirate classic.

Black Flag Resynced is set to hit PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on July 9, 2026. Ubisoft Singapore is at the helm for this one, but this studio is backed by a massive fleet of 15 support studios. Together, they’ve rebuilt the entire Caribbean in the newest version of the Anvil engine. It’d quite the achievement.

Aside from the graphics upgrade, we were equally blown away by the gameplay tweaks. Instead of the clunky 2013 mechanics, combat is being overhauled into a faster and parry-focused system. Parkour, on the other hand, is getting a much-needed fluidity pass. The stealth is also being fixed, so we will, fingers crossed, finally say goodbye to those instant-fail eavesdropping missions.

In terms of the naval combat, the devs are adding deeper customization for the Jackdaw. They’re also brand-new story missions that will be part of the core campaign.

Resynced will run you $59.99 / €59.99. It’s hitting Steam on day one, alongside Epic, the Ubisoft Store, and Ubisoft+. Wanna hear the good news? The entire campaign is fully playable offline! There are prepurchase options for three collections, out of which the first two are digital, do you want to check them out?

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has pushed over 230 million copies. The Black Flag is still widely considered the peak. We hope Ubisoft Singapore nails it. We sure would like to lose our entire summer to the Caribbean all over again.
