Better Tracking for Mobile Data Usage with Data Monitor

While your smartphone has built-in options to track your mobile and Wi-Fi data usage, you should check out Data Monitor if you want a quicker, all-in-one overview from a single dashboard.

This app allows you to easily track how much data you are transferring across available networks. Through a minimal yet visually appealing interface, you instantly get insights into:

  • Received and sent data over mobile and Wi-Fi networks on a daily and weekly basis.
  • System-wide data usage, showing exactly how much data each app on your phone uses to send and receive information.
  • Network efficiency and speed testing.

You can set up a data plan to know exactly how much data you have remaining at any given moment—especially useful if your internet is capped and you need to watch your usage carefully.

Data Monitor also features a home screen widget that displays key data transfer metrics. The widget refreshes every 60 seconds, and if you have a predefined data plan, you will receive an alert when you hit your limit so you can cut back on your browsing.

Bitroid, the company behind the tool, previously released another app called Focus, designed to restrict apps that unnecessarily distract you from your real goals.
