We absolutely loved the Left 4 Dead games. We know what you’re going to say: World War Z has very little to do with those games. But we loved Left 4 Dead for three reasons: zombies, co-op, and intensity. Because of these three key aspects, we welcomed WWZ with open arms. It has been our go-to destination for years, and we deeply appreciate all the updates that have been pushed for the game. Speaking of which, Saber Interactive released the “Limitless Strain” update for World War Z several days ago. It is a free update that adds a lot of new content to Horde Mode. And, if you want to support the game, there are two interesting cosmetic DLCs. More on all of this after the trailer jump!

GIVEAWAY!
Since the update just dropped, we’re doing a quick giveaway. We have a digital code for the base game of World War Z for one reader. To enter, just leave a comment below. You can say anything you like, even ‘hi’ will do! We’ll pick a random winner from the comments in two days, so drop a reply and check back later to see if you won. Okay, let’s get back to the news!
The biggest gameplay changes are the six new mutators for Horde Mode. They change the rules of the game to shake up the difficulty. For example, the “Still Alive” mutator allows us to kill zombies only when shooting them in the head. “Power Cut,” on the other hand, randomly turns off your electrical grid defenses during waves. This one absolutely sucked for one of our friends. We enjoyed laughing out loud as we listened to him squirm and yell all kinds of profanities. Aside from the mutators, the devs added seven weapon perks, three profile frames, and seven new daily challenges.

As we mentioned in our opening paragraph, Saber also put out two new paid cosmetic packs—the Chibi Bunko and Chibi Daniela weapon skin sets, for $4.99 each. The Chibi Bunko pack gives you skins for the 1911 Protector, TMP5, HAMR-17, ACW-20, and RPG4. The Chibi Daniela pack has skins for the Mini-21, Dunali SxS, LAR, BSS-2, and Forest Warrior Chainsaw. They look cool and help add much-needed variety during exploration.

It’s been five years since the base game came out. With the Aftermath expansion and all the other DLCs, there’s plenty of content, and trust us when we say: if you love FPS co-op games with zombies, you’ve been missing out. It’s nice to see Saber Interactive still updating World War Z, especially since they are busy with a bunch of other big games right now. If you haven’t played the game, we hope you leave a comment down below. Best of luck with the giveaway!
