VR darts might not sound like the most thrilling concept on paper. It is, after all, just standing in a room of some sort, throwing invisible objects. But Darts VR 2: Bullseye manages to take that simple idea and make it surprisingly addictive. You put the headset on expecting to play a round or two, and suddenly you lose track of time desperately trying to beat a random player online in a game of 501.

Dart Away
Physics-Based Throwing: Uses precise controller tracking to mimic real dart throws and board impacts.
Classic Pub Rules: Includes traditional games like 501 and Around the World.
Arcade Survival: Features a wave-defense “Zombies” mode where you fight off the undead.
Live Competition: Lets players join custom tournaments or climb global online leaderboards.
The Throwing Experience
Throwing the darts actually feels great. Getting the release timing right in VR can be really tricky since controllers don’t weigh the same as real darts. But the physics here just click. When you flick your wrist and hear the dart thud into the treble twenty, it’s incredibly satisfying.
The fun continues with the extra modes. “Killstreak” asks you to throw fast and accurately, turning a chill game into a bit of a workout. And then there’s “Zombies.” Yes, actual zombies. They walk toward you, and you take them out by throwing darts at their heads. It feels completely random for a darts simulator. But honestly? It’s probably the most fun mode in the game. The only real issue is that the tracking can sometimes glitch, especially if you’re trying to calculate dart arcs across a long distance. That’s usually the moment you’re reminded you’re just playing a video game.

A Long-Awaited Sequel
Gamitronics released the first VR Darts back in 2017, so seeing a sequel pop up nearly a decade later is interesting. To make this new release stand out, they packed in a ton of extras.
They added goofy hats, sunglasses, and gloves you can unlock. You can’t even see them on yourself unless you find a mirror, which is a classic VR quirk. It feels like they were trying to make up for the simple premise by adding as much fluff as possible. But underneath the cosmetic extras and the zombies, they made sure the core physics stayed solid. If the darts didn’t fly right, the whole game would fall apart. Thankfully, they nailed the basics.

The Technical Reality
Throwing things fast in VR means the game has to guess exactly when you let go and how fast your hand is moving. Sometimes, it guesses wrong. Your dart might fly off to the side for no reason. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s pretty frustrating when it ruins a good streak in a ranked match.
The menus could also use some work. Navigating the tournament screens feels a bit dated. You’re mostly using laser pointers to click things, and the 360-degree menus don’t have a smooth turning option right away. It can feel clunky. On the bright side, the online leaderboards sync perfectly, which is a big win for a small VR game.

Hey, did you know that:
- The “Zombies” mode is a huge departure from the strict simulation style of the 2017 original.
- You can unlock cosmetic items like liveries, hats, and sunglasses to show off in multiplayer.
- “Killstreak” mode was added to give players a fast-paced alternative to traditional, slower matches.
Right in the Center
Darts VR 2: Bullseye is a great VR game that pulls you completely into its world. Darts VR 2 gets really close, right up until a clunky menu or a tracking glitch breaks the illusion. It’s a great physics simulator mixed with some genuinely weird arcade modes. If you want a realistic darts experience, you’ll enjoy it. And if you just want to throw pointy things at zombies, it’s got you covered there too.
Narrative (2/10) There isn’t a story here. You just throw darts at boards and the occasional zombie.
Gameplay Mechanics (8/10) The physics feel excellent, though a few tracking hiccups hold it back from being perfect.
Audio (6/10) The sound of the darts hitting the board is great, but the background noise loops a bit too noticeably.
Graphics (6/10) Everything looks clean and clear, but the environments are pretty basic.
