Kuro Games recently dropped a serious update for their action RPG, Wuthering Waves. Instead of just piling on new combat mechanics, Version 3.2, titled “Resolution to Illuminate the Shadows” focuses on expanding the story and fixing annoying issues that players have complained about for a long time.

Version 3.2 Core Features
- Story Expansion: Chapter III Act IV “Gold Suspended in Shadows” and the “[Segue: Afterstory] Rabbit Reflected in Shades” epilogue.
- New Playable Character: Introduction of the new Resonator, Sigrika.
- Endgame Overhaul: Transition to seasonal Endstate Matrix challenges, starting with the Doomsday Cycle.
- Systemic Overhaul: Advanced Echo management system featuring Smart Discard, sharable custom plans, and Data Merge reminders.
- Quality of Life: Better Expedition Motorbike physics, skippable previously-cleared trial rewards, and new graphics settings.
The main story got bigger with the release of Chapter III Act IV, which is immediately followed by a new epilogue. To help tackle these new adventures, you can unlock a brand-new playable character named Sigrika. We don’t want to share anything more about her exact stats here, but we’d strongly encourage you to check her out – she is sure to shake up how you build your favorite teams.
And, if you’re a hardcore player looking for a challenge, the difficult “Endstate Matrix” arenas have changed. They now run in seasons, starting with the Doomsday Cycle, which will steadily increase the difficulty over the coming months. There is also a new Tactical Hologram boss fight to test your skills, along with a brand-new weapon series to collect.

Developer Fun Facts: Kuro Games
- Humble Beginnings: Before moving to a fancy tech building, Kuro Games’ early office was on the ground floor right next to a local grocery store.
- The Grassroots Breakthrough: Their hit sci-fi action RPG, Punishing: Gray Raven, began development in 2017 with a tiny core team of just 30 people.
- The Forgotten First Game: Before making huge 3D action games, Kuro’s debut title was a 2016 2D game called Twin Tail Battleground, which shut down in 2018.
- High-Profile Visitors: In March 2025, Apple CEO Tim Cook made a surprise appearance at a Kuro Games event to showcase Wuthering Waves running natively on macOS.
- Corporate Independence: Even though the gaming giant Tencent bought a 51.4% majority stake in 2024, Kuro Games continues to operate with complete creative freedom.
Beyond the usual battles, the update is packed with fun side activities, including rhythm games, login rewards, and cool new skins for your motorcycle. But the biggest change is how the game handles your “Echoes” (monster abilities). Kuro Games added a highly requested system that lets you automatically filter out and delete bad Echoes. You can even share and copy these custom filters with friends, saving you tons of time looking at menus.
The game also runs and plays much smoother. The in-game motorcycle won’t get stuck on small bumps as easily, and its autopilot steers better around obstacles. Plus, you won’t have to replay old character trials just to claim your rewards anymore. For graphics, if you’re a PC player then you’ll be happy to hear that you got a new “Render Distance” setting, and high-end phones are getting a new “High Quality” mode. This was all included when the patch dropped on March 18th.

“Resolution to Illuminate the Shadows” brings exactly the kind of essential maintenance a live-service game needs to stay healthy and fun. While new story chapters and characters are always exciting, the best part of this update is how much easier your daily tasks are. By fixing annoying inventory menus, improving vehicle movement, and adding better graphics options, the developers prove they are listening to the community. If these changes work as promised, playing Wuthering Waves will feel a lot more rewarding and respectful of your time.
