Less Grind, More Grapples: WWE 2K26 Patch 1.07 Drops Now

WrestleMania season usually means 2K is busy tweaking things behind the scenes, and WWE 2K26’s Patch 1.07 is no exception. Instead of just squashing a few lingering bugs, Visual Concepts is directly targeting two of the community’s biggest headaches: the brutal battle pass grind and the frustrating early-match stamina drain. Brace for what’s new after the jump:

Core Features Update

  • Permanent 21% cut to the XP needed per battle pass tier (now 625).
  • Premium DLC characters will unlock instantly at Tier 1 in future seasons.
  • 20 free tier skips for both Season 1 and Season 2 for active players.
  • Slower early-match stamina drain.
  • Cheaper reversal costs when fighting multiple opponents.
  • Referees can take more damage before triggering a disqualification.
  • Added new grapple animations and streamlined multiplayer prestige.

If you’ve been ignoring the Ringside Pass because it takes way too long to level up, the studio is throwing out a massive lifeline. They’re dumping enough free XP into active accounts to skip 20 tiers right now, and they plan to do it again when Season 2 drops (provided you log in by mid-April). More importantly, this isn’t just a temporary band-aid. They’ve permanently chopped the XP requirements for each tier down to 625. Premium pass buyers are getting a major perk next season, too—all DLC wrestlers will unlock instantly at Tier 1. You finally get to play the characters you paid for without treating the game like a part-time job.

Wanna know more about the studio behind the game?

  • Visual Concepts has been around since 1988, initially making obscure action and puzzle games for the Apple IIGS and NES before completely pivoting to sports.
  • The studio forced the entire industry to rethink digital football in 1999 with the release of the critically acclaimed NFL 2K for the Sega Dreamcast.
  • Take-Two Interactive bought the developer from Sega in 2005 for $24. million. That single acquisition was the foundation for the massive “2K” publishing label we know today

In the ring, the match pacing is getting a much-needed overhaul. Wrestlers won’t blow up and start sucking wind two minutes into a fight anymore since early-match stamina drain has been dialed back. If you end up taking a beating in a handicap match, reversals are now cheaper to pull off when you’re outnumbered. Also, the virtual refs apparently took some bumps in training camp; they can now absorb a lot more collateral damage before deciding to ring the bell and instantly DQ you for a stray elbow.

A few other specific additions round out the update. Chelsea Green and Blake Monroe finally have their specific finishers added to the animation pool (the Cradle Flatliner and Glamour Shot, respectively). Plus, if you spend all your time in multiplayer, you can now hit your prestige rank directly from the training facility rather than backing out through several menus.

Giving away free XP is an obvious tactic to inflate player numbers ahead of a massive real-world pay-per-view, but the permanent changes to the Ringside Pass economy are hard to complain about. By making the grind less punishing and letting players actually wrestle for a few minutes before running out of breath, Visual Concepts is making a solid play to keep the community invested.
